This year began with a host of unexpected but much needed changes:
Moving up the peninsula from Monterey County, a brief month at Gilroy, a few weeks at Mountain View and finally landed in Foster City in July and emptying my storage unit.
Trevor's college friends began reaching out because they were ready to become first time buyers. We've expanded our business to San Mateo County although we had previous sales (Half Moon Bay and San Carlos) in earlier years.
I may have another change or two in my future, but it doesn't include a permanent move to Hawaii.
Began being mentored by SBA's April Rizzi, Anew America and Liz Brazil, NorCalPTAC as I prepare for government contracting. Obtaining all the codes and certificates necessary and finally enrolled in NAR's (National Association of REALTORS) CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist) for global connections. With family members being born in Korea, Taiwan and Germany, and having traveled or lived as a military kid in Germany, Sweden, Caribbean (Jamaica, St. Thomas), Mexico (Cabo) and several cities in the US before making California home, it seemed like the natural next step to broaden my horizons.
Spending more time in San Francisco than I ever had since I moved here from Hawaii decades ago, I feel like I just can't absorb enough of it's staggering beauty of hilly terrain, hills sprinkled with colorful 2-3 story homes with tiny square windows, the bay waters, the ocean, the Golden Gate and Bay Bridge.
Letting Go
It's also been a year of letting go of a fairly lethargic covid routine to facing intentional challenges:
SF Marathon, 10k
Riding a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge down to Darios Pizza at Sausalito and then took the SF Ferry from Sausalito to the Port of SF and biked back to the bike rental
Yoga MWF with a great instructor, Laura, at 24HourFitness San Mateo
Victor's Shoe Repair in San Mateo was referred by Ali and he did an amazing job stitching handles on my purse and repairing my Ugg boot zipper
Rode bikes with my daughter from Bascom to the Pruneyard via a trail east of Lincoln Ave (not a direct shot), Orchard City Kitchen at the Pruneyard- biscuits and bacon
2 Covid vaccinations given by my Jeremy (MH CVS pharmacy)
Dr. Le, my beautiful new doctor at Redwood City, lab tests and 2 more in December
French wine, white and red, thanks to Lotte, my true French Sommelier and the request of beverages by Brandon to go with the lamb kabobs
Black Sheep Brasserie, French restaurant Willow Glen, several times
Kids bought me a new bike for my birthday
